Creation of transcultural development tools

Intercultural profiles

Intercultural profiles, defined by 14 aspects, enable behavioural and communication differences to be analysed and understood through the creation of the participants’ profiles in relation to their native culture and the target culture.

The intercultural dimensions required by a good international manager are identified, including:

- oral and written communication
- the approach to time
- the decision-making process
- risk-taking
- hierarchy
- status and skills

This very powerful tool enables an action plan and the intercultural bridges necessary for optimum achievement of objectives and tasks to be conceived and enables:

- the training manager to outline a development plan
- the mobility manager to understand the colleague’s expatriability
- the recruiter to consider a future international collaborator differently
- training and coaching to be tailor made

Suitable assessment grids

International groups are faced with the equity dilemma posed by individual assessments. Each manager assesses his colleagues through the prism of their own culture. Certain cultures establish assessments pragmatically and based on facts whereas other cultures use more hazy terms and others still are more interpersonal.
